Default stock turbo set up

Hi guys, im kinda new to the lsx scene but am pretty familiar with forced induction on other cars. So my question is im going to be building a custom turbo setup for my 98 Z28 and just want to know how much boost the stock motor will handle. I know ive got to upgrade the fuel system and everything but just curious as to what the stock bottom end will safely fun. This will be a street driven car with very little track time. Thanks in advance for any help.

Well how much boost depends a lot on turbo chosen.Bigger turbo flows more air more power at less boost. Generaly guide if you are just going by boost is like 7psi to 8psi . Of course tune plays a big part ,timing and afr. Run too much timing or lean and the stock pistons are very unforgiving. With 317 heads dropping compression guys usually push things higher to 10psi or so. I would not get greedy on stock engine. Unless you can afford a rebuild sooner rather than later. Guy on local board runs think 5psi on his base turbo sts kit for last few years.I think its doing fine. Other guys with sts lt1 blew his engine quick with just a little mistake on his boost controller. Goodbye crappy stock ringlands!

Think rod bolts are other weak area in stock engine.

depending on the turbo you go with is how you will determine that. id go with a t70 or something around that. i would run around 8psi and you will probably make around 450 500. depening on whats done to your car will determine that too

Ive been looking into a t76 for my build. I havnt started it yet, just in the planning process right now and trying to learn as much as possible before starting.

Also what size injectors would be needed to run at lets say 5 or 6 pounds? and would a walbro 255 be a big enough pump or would I need to go bigger?

Single intank should be fine to 500 rwhp or so . Think past that would go twin intank.
60s are good size ,42 can be a bit small . Stock lines are ok for now.

So 60s, single intank good enough for fuel.
Sts ls1 guy I know is on stock pump with 42 pound injectors. He is really low boost though so thinking he is maybe 400rwhp or so.
I was running 60s on stock pump end of last season but only to break in motor and turbos at low boost. Can finally tune the car wot shortly with the new fuel setup.
