Proper way to clock the turbo?
Just wondering what the official proper way to clock the turbo is?
My question is coming from a little smoking issue that i have on decel and also at really random times.
Should i just have the feed at 12 and the return at 6? Is there a better position to help with oil backing up into the turbo? I have a really tight setup with a return that isnt the best.
Also can i put a check ball in the return so it cant return back to the turbo?

Ideally you want the oil inlet at the 12 o'clock position and the outlet at the 6 o'clock position. You want the outlet/return line to be as big as possible and as straight as possible. Any bends or kinks will hinder the oil flow from returning to the crankcase. A check ball is not needed and can act as a restrictor to the return system. Also ensure you do not have too much oil pressure going into the center housing, as it can overwhelm the piston rings in the center housing.
