Somtimes you can run two smaller fans that add up to more cfm's.I think you should put all the cfm's in there that you can fit.Look at the perma cool fans,I have two of those that add up to 3650 cfm's.

Yep, stay away from the knock-off brands that claim 1,000,000,000 CFM.
They might flow well at no load, but the premium line fans from Spal and flex-a-lite actually rate the flow at real world operating conditions.

I would only use Spal Fans. They are the only company that rates there CFM in water, Everyone else uses static flow CFM. They are also OEM for most European exotics.

I have the 16 Spal Extreme puller fan. It for sure pulls more CFM than the ATI 16 inch fan it replaced. However I recently read that it is for racing purposes only and not daily driver use. That was information I didn't inquire about when I talked to Spal about the Extreme and that it would replace the ATI fan.

If that is true then I would check with SPAL first and find out extactly what the life expectancy is in hours for the model you plan to purchase. The Spal Extreme is pricey and it's not something you want to replace or very often.

Will it last as long as the stock 12 inchers which easily go to 50,000 miles plus - probably not.

If I had the room I would install two smaller pullers rather than one 16 incher.
