Default Newbie to FI looking to make the switch.

Here recently I have been missing a Supercharged/Turbo car, since my T/A was my upgrade from my 98 Supercharged GTP.

I bought my T/A 3 years ago and it was All stock. Bought it for cheap. Had a broken tail light, crappy tires, stock clutch was messing up and sticking. 104k.

Runs great now. TTII's, ls7 clutch/ls2 flywheel. SLP Lid. P/S Headers/Y-Pipe. SLP LM1. 4.10's. Here is what it looks like now.

The car ran 12.990 @ 109 with the stock wheels/tires. Mid 12's with the DR's (free of rear end problems that is) lol

I have ran this car hard pretty good but honestly mostly just driving it everyday. It has 130k on it now and I would like to go FI.

What do I need? I do plan on pulling the motor and rebuilding it, now as far as replacing stock parts only as needed I guess. My family owns a custom engine shop so I have just about unlimited resources to motor parts at a good price. So if I need to go forged internals I can.

Here is the motor that we built for my GTP
Setting in the garage now since I got rear-ended and totaled it.

But what S/C, Pro charger setup am I looking to buy? I am not looking for a Crazy HP number since this is my DD (but a crazy HP number would be good too, reliable is key), and my original plan was to buy a GM 6.0L block and build a stroked 402 from scratch with 540hp/500tq. So this is a little different for me.

I have had this car from 104k-130k and I am SHOCKED I have had Zero Engine problems, no w/p leaking, no head gasket leaks, no problems what-so-ever. Had to tighten the header bolts once since I put them on, who hasn't?

What if I want a tad more than that? I don't mind rebuilding the motor with some forged stuff, since I am going to rebuild it while I have it out anyways.... I don't mind a few extra $$$'s to make some more reliable hp

So forge up an engine and go d1sc. Simple . I am going to be throwing a procharger maybe next year on my 96z. I have enough turbo cars.
That new sts kit might also be fun .

Stock LS1 and a d1sc.. Would you just buy a forged rotating assembly and be done? rebuild the rest stock?

Huh not quite sure following you. You said I thought you were doing up your engine or a new engine.
Your engine could be fine you can leave the crank just do rods and pistons. Or you can go say 6.0 iron block stock crank rods and pistons.Or if you have more bucks you could do up a 402 aluminum or a 408 iron block like my engine.
Or you could run at low boost for a bit on the stock engine. I had ride in buddies d1 stock engine camaro last year. It was auto and it really could have used some stall and gears but it still went pretty darn good. Forget what times he got with it at local track.

You can run stock engine until it dies your choice. Remember you need support. Intank pump , 42s or 60s for injectors, tuning.
There is D1 for sale couple posts down from yours. Check it out maybe.
