Default Is my wg 2 small?

This is what I have, 99ls1 t76 with 38mm turbo smart wg. On the dyno it put down 464rwhp, at sea level 100 deg weather and 10psi. After I got it back home, its boosting to 15psi on the street and killing my timing and falling on its face. I have swap to a 5 psi spring, and the same thing happend, does this now mean my wg is to small??

Assuming you have plumbed it up correctly, if boost is rising well beyond what is expected, then it could be too small.

Well if it was working before then quit I would say something else is wrong. I run a 38mm ultra & I can get it down to 10 lbs with a tc 78. But maybe my plumbing is more optimal?

Was the dyno a non loading unit? Dynojet?

If it was non loading it is normal for the car to make more boost on the street(only a few pounds usually) and that could be amplified by the fact the gate is too small or placement of it is not optimal.
