Camming a blower car?

Default Camming a blower car?

Just curious what you would want to consider when building a motor, cam wise? Originally, before I decided I wanted to go FI, I chose Absolute Speed S3 heads, and a LG G5x-3 cam...would that cam be hurting me? Or, would I want to go with a custom grind, that is more blower friendly?

G5x3 would have way too much overlap, you want to stay in the 220's if you are staying stock C.I.

I have even smaller than that and I'm a 372, I'm upgrading to a 226/234 .598./.599 114-117lsa in the future

You don't want a lot of overlap at all, the duration of the cam would hurt you....

Would you probably want to go with some 6.0L big chamber heads, that will lower the compression a lot and you can run some more boost....especiall if the bottom end is built.....

So, maybe the GTP Pig Cam would be a better bet for me? Could someone be able to use the TSP 231/237 cam and not be affected TOO much?

That would work, still wouldn't be ideal if you are staying stock C.I. has too much overlap.....

I've got a 227/234-112 in my car and it works just fine.most people worry too much about overlap.overlap can be a good thing.everyone says it blows boost out the exhaust....that may be true,but the boost going out the exhaust takes ALL of the exhaust with it.you don't have charge contamination that way.to restore the lost boost,you just pulley it up a little.besides,I will trade a few hp for that cool,ground beating idle anyday.
