Right.. thats the key! boost may slightly differ, but HP and torque will probably not change at all.

Please follow thru with your test. I'm really interested in the results.

Thanks
I can tell you my results with the ultra low on the 408 in my sign, NA it maxed me out at 400hp (thats acording to my et/weight not corrected for altitude of 3500'). I am sure it will be good for more at sea level. The car launches hard enough it destroyed the rear end, but as soon as it hit 5000rpm, it flatlines. I checked and double checked everything, tuned and retuned and retuned. I read somewere I thought on Edelbrokes web sight that the Ultra low was rated at 400hp. I pray it will not matter with the GT88 rear mount.

I am interested in this divider, can Edelbrock do some testing with thier computer and let us know what the results are? I am personaly conserned with starving the #1&2 cylinders in a FI with thier elbows.

It will be a bit for me to test as I am still waiting on my Trickflow heads to come from TEA and solid roller from Comp.. Mike over at TEA said they should be done in about 2 weeks.

Im really curious about this in a N/A application.

Im currently running the sheetmetal elbow, and it rubs a bit and i dont want to cut anymore... plus i want to get an uncut plastic cowl/seal back to keep water from leaking in.

My motor is a bit over 600hp NA (at crank), and i dont want to bottlekneck it with the ultra low profile elbow.

After some more searching around I've decided move up the "Low Profile" and try and make it work. Thanks for sharing that.

apples vs oranges.. why are the N/A guys posting in this thread? Their results don't mean anything. Of course it will be a restriction on a N/A car, but on a supercharged car, the air is being forced in.. Hence the whole forced induction side of things. On a N/A application, its a totally different ballgame. I wouldnt even think to use the low profile on a N/A or nitrous motor! Wouldnt think twice to use it on a FI motor tho.

I can see you point. And totally agree.

Can't flow characteristics effect even BOOSTED applications though?

For example, a GT42r running 10 psi vs. a 60-1 at the same 10 psi on the same engine but since the larger turbo Flows more, makes more power.

Good point, but here is where superchargers differ from turbos. With superchargers, you are flowing a predetermined set CFM. With turbos, you are flowing a set PSI. If a supercharged application experiences a restriction downstream of it in the intake tract, no problem, it will just cause the boost PSI to increase, but you will still be flowing the same CFM. For a turbo, a restriction will effect boost, so it becomes more tricky to adjust the flow to achieve the same set CFM.. The OP has a supercharger...

i have the this elbow on my turbo car..seems to work fine on my FI set ups. i know that car that lost 90whp with this elbow..they said it had somthing to do with the divider, making some cylinders to run lean and real hot. I cut my divider out and runs fine..

^^^^Did you dyno it afterwards.....before and after graphs available? Did slowhawk have to retune it after you removed the divider?
The divider is there to help with distribution, funny that it might have caused some distribution problems on a FI application. Hope the edelbrock guys can chime in on this.

I'm pretty sure the edelbrock guys already chimed in on this before. Thats where those pretty CFD flow pictures came from. This whole thread is pretty much a repost actually.

Repost type thread indeed.

After having it on the car everything is still fine on it. I even have ran as much as 16psi on it with no probs of leaning out certain cylinders (stock shortblock as well) plugs still looked good. Dont feel like the elbow is a restriction at all on a FI setup. Makes enough power to burn up a 4l80 truck convertor lol. Did have to slot the holes on my NW 90mm TB to get it to bolt up though.

Made 540rwhp at 10psi with the elbow, and 4l80e on the car and maxxing out the old 48lb injectors.

yeah, I saw those "pretty CFD flow pic's" and their explanation, but seeing how this guy said his car was running lean in a few cylinders with the divider and down 90rwhp with the elbow and after "removing" said divider his car picked back up again.

i know that car that lost 90whp with this elbow..they said it had somthing to do with the divider, making some cylinders to run lean and real hot. I cut my divider out and runs fine..
I'm siding on edelbrocks expertise here trust me. I'd like to see his before and after graphs with and without the divider and maybe some egt logs as well to see which cylinders of his were running lean.

I run this elbow as well

I d bet that the problem was else were, like maybe reversion in the intake or something , but that doesnt mean that a divider change couldnt effect a different problem, or fix it. It doesnt mean the problem was the divider, only that removing it helped the problem.

Two different things.

I for one, will get an edelbrock, the tallest one that fits, what ever it may be once the intake height is set.

Sorry for the OT hijack, but is that a meth nozzle there in your intake tract before the 90* bend? If so, do you have any problems with it being there since its not a straight path into the TB?

the meth nozzle works nicely there. I was concerned about puddling but after installing the meth kit, but after a few WOT blasts down the street it worked pretty good. I pulled the elbow to check for puddling or excessive wetness but there was none.

The placement also looks a bit deceiving, if you look into the elbow from the TB side you can clearly see the whole meth nozzle....I think I have a pic on the old computer of this let me check
