Default how to identify a -an ss line?

dumb question but here goes. I got a used sts kit from a member here. I am getting ready to tap the pan. I have the line, and the fittings to the turbo. I want to purchase the fittings to tap the pan for the feed, only I have no idea what size stainless line I have. How can I identify what size -an line I have? I have no experience with these lines till now. I could measure the o.d. of the line and the end fittings, but that doesn't help much to know what size it is. Can someone chime in to help me identify what size it is? Thanks.

very general rule of thumb is the ID is the -an# over 16, -8 would be close to 1/2" ID (8/16) and -6 is close to 3/8 (6/16) etc. If all you can measure is the OD just go to a local speed shop that sells braided hose and you can compare the sizes
