Sweet build. That turbo is huge. Details on the motor? Did you ever get down the track with the blower or on the rollers to see how the turbo stacks up?

He's working on the truck right now actually...

The engine is a forged 383 with ARP goodness all around and a set of ported factory heads. I believe it's about 9.5:1 SCR. The truck never mad a solid pass or dyno pull unfortunately. In the beginning there were wiring problems (and a 98 PCM ugh) but once they were solved, belt problems showed up. It used a corvette arrangement for the SC and even after the 8-rib pulleys and lots of work, we could never get the belt to hold well past 10psi. this past spring i went to the track with the d1sc installed and this happend.......




i then put this back in it......

its a strange pro case with 1350 yoke, detroit locker, 3:70 gears, and 35 spline axles. should`nt have any more problems out of the rear!
i got the truck running, but it needs tuning badly. heres a couple of pics.





ive got some bugs to work out, but i hope to get tuned maybe next week

its finally moving under its own power! i tried cranking it before FROST showed up and it ran like crap. black smoke rolled out of the exhaust and ended up fouling the plugs. when FROST diagnosed the truck turns out the 2bar map sensor had taken a dump. i got a new map in it last night and it fired and ran. i took it out today and it drives pretty well. still burning off the piping. i was sitting at a stop sign reading my programmer and a guy drove by staring. i looked up and smoke was rolling out from under the hood! so i got out to check and it was just the wrapped piping smoking. next friday FROST is coming back to tune again. hopefully right after that i can run it at the track and get a little footage to share!

Eh it's a turbo, it has it's kinks to work out but they are minor and the list grows small...

5" of downpipe is massive too!

well, i took it out today with the supercharger tune still in it and it still runs great! i would give it steady throttle in high gear like FROST told me and the wideband would steadily run from 14.4 to rich very quickly @ about 2 psi. after doing that a couple of times i tried just giving it 3/4 throttle all at once and all of the sudden it shot up to 7-8psi and the wastegate was going crazy!. it felt as strong as the d1sc did @ 10psi. then i tried 3/4 throttle from a dead stop and it shot up to 7-8psi imediatly! im not messing with anymore until FROST sees it again!

You did a nice job keeping everything looking nice...thats a lot of heat wrap. For the gauge, maybe in/ on the corner of the dash, driver side.

If you get to go to the track friday send me a text. Im hoping to be up there if we can finish the C4 trans install on a 03 Terminator this week. Trying to get it ready for the Terminator Shootout at MIR.

i put the 10lb spring in the wastegate last night. i took it out after work to see the difference between the 7lb and the 10lb spring. now, the only gears it will hold traction is the top of third and fourth gear! if i give the truck 90- 100% any the lower gears it just blows the 325/50/15`s. this is with the procharger tune still in place and w/ 16 degrees of timing. its only going to get uglier from here! i cant wait til friday! if all goes well with tuning on friday, this truck will be at richmond dragway friday night for some shakedown runs!

Well, Frost came out to put the final tune on my truck on FRrday and we discovered a couple of new problems with my set up. I went back to the 7lb sping, we went out and went through the gears we saw 16lbs of boost at one point. On top of that, right around 11lbs of boost the A1000 pump is maxed out.
So I decided to take it to the track anyway last night just to see what ballpark I am in. I ran a 11.92 at 116mph at 8psi of boost. I was fighting over boost all the way down the track and kept the TPS at roughly 70%. I am going to try to correct my over boost and fuel pressure drop situations in the next couple of weeks.

ok, i finally got my boost under control. i added a second wastegate. as for my fueling situation, i traded the a1000 for two walbros and installed them last night. heres some pics.......





i cant wait to take it out again. hopefully nobody will call the cops on me this time!
