I don't really know tuning at all so I have a question.

How does manipulating the tune of the tbrake/2step not affect the same tables when the car is actually in gear? Is there some sort of separate map that you can dial in for JUST when the car is on the brake???

In other words, if the cars drivabilty is dialed in, and all of the part throttle and WOT tables are dialed in.....then it just seems like I wouldn;t want to jack them up for when I am on the brake........if it makes it drive funny when not on the brake.

Follow me? Its hard to explain what I am trying to say.

welcome to the achillies heel of drag racing turbo cars. in heads up racing (especially with an autostart system), the nitrous and blower cars will try to exploit this weakness with staging games.

what you really need is something like a nitrous timer that is adjustable down to .01 second to pulse the t-brake and roll the car into the second beam when you reach launch rpm/boost. you need fine adjustment of the time interval to adjust how far the car rolls in when the brake pulses off then back on. they have this built into the fast xfi system.

Sounds rough on the trans and tbrake harware. Seems like a good plan though. I think dual calipers would get me the desired launch I need, when combined with the correct tune/stall speed/2-step.

it's not easy on parts, that's for sure. but then again neither is brake boosting the car. I'm not sure if the shock to the hardparts from pulsing the barke would be worse. or cooking the fluid brake boosting. an ice water cooled transcooler would make that an easy choice though.

Even after a PUNISHING burnout/brake boost staging/extended tbrake launch/full pass.....my trans temps don't go to far over 210-220 degrees by the time I'm at the time-slip booth.

I am still confused to why pulling fuel would cause the car to spool faster??? It wouldn;t change the load against the converter like you said IMO. Or would it? I know a "little about a lot" but am definitely not an expert in any one category.

Thanks for your advice!
Im dealing with the exact same thing right now with me neil chance. My old looser converter stalled higher but was junk up top

power....the more power the tranny/converter has to absorb..the hotter it gets. I can be on the brake 5 secs...make a pass and only see a 15-20 degree rise at most. We are not taling 1500-2000rwhp here and big stalls for the most part

So I just got back in town from a vaction for the past 5 days. I just have this constant urge to pull my car out onto my street and fiddle with the 2 step lol. Its pretty amazing that after 6 years in the same nice rental home I have never black tracked the whole street. I guess I like having my neighbors like me lol.
