Got the ebay turbo kit on

So far the headers line up perfectly! So far Ive just done the headers but I will let you know how the rest goes!

TurboZ28408 09-12-2009 09:24 PM

hhahah wait till you have to deal with all the vbands lining up

so far you put the headers on and thats it ? no cross over pipes nothing ?

Reject 09-12-2009 09:38 PM

better make sure to leave everything loose before cranking down on the bolts, nothing will line up if you dont

XtremeDime 09-12-2009 09:54 PM

I put it all together off the car before, had no issues there. I have a plan for the v clamps already.

This isn't the PTK replica kit is it?

TurboZ28408 09-12-2009 10:09 PM

In that case, I didn't have a problem with my v band clamps

KILLER-LS1 09-13-2009 02:53 AM

yep, mine is directly from godspeed and i had to notch a v-band, weld another 02 bung since the passenger side didnt have enough room for the sensor, and since im running a t76, i had to make a custom downpipe. i just finished mine, it will be at the dyno this week. im writing the instruction manual for godspeed, so you will all get to see that soon!

its just a pain in the ass for them to line up if he just bolted the headers on without leaving everything loose and tightening in sequence

scottie dont 09-14-2009 12:29 AM

any pics of how its mounting yet? im kind of curious about these kits.

XtremeDime 09-14-2009 12:38 AM

Got everything pretty much bolted up, havent had too many issues so far. Im a little confused on the belt routing though. I see everyone that has these PTK knockoffs are exactly the same, can someone show me pics of their belt routing or draw me a diagram?

Starting from underneath the waterpump it goes over the powersteering, around the idler, around the crank, around the alternator, and back under the waterpump

Fair warning go ahead and build a turbo brace! I hit a pot hole the othe day and cracked the turbo flange section of pipe at the v band flange. Got it all apart getting it ready to weld back up!!!!

You hit a pole. How does putting a turbo brace help?

Dean95z28 09-14-2009 02:26 PM

A pot hole in the road. Jared the car really hard. All the weight of the turbo hanging out there on that pipe and it cracked.

XtremeDime 09-14-2009 08:30 PM
