how strong is a ls7 block
My buddy had one (with all aftermarket forged internals) with a little less than a 400 shot running consistant 8.9 @ 150-152 MPH for almost 2 yrs. He sold it in good running order. They tore it down to check it out and everything looked good inside. No experience under pressure though.
You'll get mixed reviews. Many have claimed to crack the sleeves near the deck on these blocks. On the other hand, there are many here running built ls2 blocks north of 1300rwhp with no problems. I bought my ls7 longblock with all forged internals from Shawn@VASpeed. He said that the ls7 sleeves are stronger than the ls2 sleeves. I'm looking to push 1200rwhp on mine in the near future.
