Smile Young Padowan learner seeks Jedi master(s)

Hey guys. I just found this site and the info here is awesome. I have an '03 Avalanche 5.3 with the Radix setup, JBA shroty/ceramic headers, Borla cat back, and part of KN FIPK. With the stock setup running 6.5-7psi the truck ran fine on 91 octane fuel with no audible detonation. However, since I live at 5200 feet and the gas here is not the best, I wanted to go to more boost (imagine that, lol). I got a 3.1 pulley and raised the boost to 8.5. Immediately the tune went to poop and the truck detonates all over the place. Johan @ Diablosport has been working his butt off trying to help me dial it in better, but all his tunes have little or no effect with the greater boost. I have been corresponding with Lynden Wester about his tuned pcm and have looked into getting LS1Edit, although I know very little about fuel tables, a/f mixes, throtle tip in, knock retard, timing changes etc. I would like to be able to tune my own truck and be done with it for the least amount of addtional $$$$$ if you know what I mean. This truck is a daily driver and will never see the track. I have several clients that are service managers at local gm dealers and have some access to a TechII if that will help me at all. I have several different tuners all telling me different things so I thought I would come to the mountain of wisdom and learn from guys that are doing and have great working knowledge of exactly what I am trying to achieve. I thank you in advance for any aid rendered!!!

Thanks for the reply. I used the secondary fuel pump that comes with the kit. There is also some sort of "fuel pressure booster" that I beleive is mounted to the fuel rail and has the oem regulator seated into it. I got the fittings yesterday to allow me to attatch a fuel pressure guage. When I had the smaller pulley on it would bog and detonate if I applied any throttle less than wot, but the second I backed out of it the truck would quickly accelerate. I thought it was because the computer was seeing much more air and over compensating with the fuel, but I took it over to my buddy who is a service manager at the local chevy store and took it for a drive with his drivability tech. The tech was convinced that the truck was running lean and not getting enough fuel pressure so I promtly went back to the larger pulley.
