Default Critique this cam for blower application

XFI lobes, 230/236 .612/.607 112+2

For a C5 vette, 6 speed, street car. Car will be a stock shortblock, stock cubes. Speccing this to perform well NA for a while but then perform well with the blower once it's added in very near future. What I'm looking for out of the cam....

Streetable
nothing very peaky, good power under curve
decent chop at stoplights
good with blower
quiet valvetrain if possible
not "overcammed"

Let me know what you think, any other suggestions are welcome as well!

Should work well. Should have a good DCR so it will work well NA until you add the blower also.

have you thought about the epp blower cam 232/240 .595/.608 115LSA still has a nice chop and good drivability with a good tune, also engine compartment noise is all with pushrod length i would say 7.425 as aftermarket cams are a little smaller than the stock cam

EDIT: here is the link http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com....html?item=679

and a vid of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pSpYYylt7c

Yes I have thought about the EPP cam, it's a close second here. Want to get your thoughts on this as well. This isn't a strict blower application, want it to do well NA for a street car and then work with the blower.

Shawn, you are suggesting then a 230/240 on a 114-115 ish? Unsure what lobes/lifts I can fit for that but I'll research

Well blowers do like more exhaust duration. A 114+3 or a 115+4 would work good like Shawn said also.

I think that, with your requirements list, you would be very happy with this cam, both NA and with a blower. For that duration I wouldn't change anything unless you have a particularly restrictive exhaust, then I would add the 4 degrees exhaust.

So you think it's just fine as it sits. What are your thoughts on the LSA? I think it should be a good performer under both apps, but I'm not a pro

U want the LSA to be 114-117 so the air will stay in the cylender. At 112+2 the in. and ex. valves are open at the same time, so u will lose boost. the way your talking about would be a good cam for NAWWWWSSs

Well, I have a 230/236 on 112 in my 383 and it puts down 660rwhp. I think if you like to spin the motor a bit you want a little overlap. It's never bothered me at all and the midrange and topend is sick. I do run true 3" duals after 1 3/4" longtubes with an H-pipe though, so it's a pretty low restriction exhaust.

Cool thanks! Being a vette I have pretty much the same exhaust, 1 3/4" LTs, 3" X pipe, low restriction catback. I filled out the form and have Patrick G on the job to see what he suggests as well!

I would go a little higher on the exhaust side if you are using the stock heads.

I put Patrick G on the job and he came up with:

EPS Lobes;
226/238 .598/.604 112+3

Let's hear your thoughts!

Patrick G knows his stuff. I am planning on running one of his cams on my next setup. May consider the EPP FI cam, if it's close to what he recommends.. Still undecided on my heads.

I ran a 234/242 112+4 (aka G5X3) N/A (heads/cam stock 346) then added a P1SC as an afterthought. Never had a problem making boost. Ran 7psi..High 5xx rwhp. lol. LG Pro headers with Borla Stingers.... etc.. the normal stuff. Motor still runs great N/A again, but coming apart again soon for the new setup

I wouldn't hesitate on the Patrick G cam.

Still in the same ballpark. Patrick knows better than me, so go for it.
