The LQ9 should swallow the 4.00 stroke without work on the block unless you use a rod that is bulky on the big end. The 4.125 stroke may need some minor work, but you should not pay more than 150$ for that.

That is subject to different thoughts. My thoughts are the cylinder in the iron block is pretty short for using the 4.125 stroke although it can be done. If you decide to try this, the proper piston will be what makes or breaks the deal. I would contact Brian Nutter at Wiseco as he seems to have a good handle on skirt design that can work in this type of engine build.
