Default C6 LS3 maggie install

I've got a friend that is wanting to install a Magnacharger on his C6 and he was told by a couple members in his car club that he should change the pushrods and keepers because the are a "weak link" in the engine when a maggie is installed. It sounds like b.s. to me but I figured I would ask.

I don't think you need to change anything if you're going with the stock cam. That stuff is upgraded on my TVS blown LS3 only because my cam is quite a bit bigger than stock.

I don't know about LS3's, but on LS1's most people upgrade the pistons and connecting rods when running boost.

Changing the valve springs would be a good idea on a car with boost. manu people do that. The pushrods should be fine with a stock cam. Never heard about doing the keepers unless you are putting in springs.. lol

I thought it all sounded like a bit of bullshiz. I told him I would do new springs if anything. He only looking to run about 6 psi (yeah, for about the first day and then up from there)

You don't need to change the valvetrain components for only 6 psi from a maggie on a stock motor.

Sounds like a bit of old school thinking from others. These springs are pretty damn strong compaired to the old ones the LS1 had. They will be perfectly fine, and so will his short block. I installed a MP112 Maggie on my C6 LS2 when teh car had 2000 miles on it and only added Kooks Headers with it, I was runnign 6 lbs on it. I never touched anything on the motor otherwise. I am running 10lbs now with my procharger on my LS2 and its all stock as well. If it was a high mileage F Body, yea I might think about it. Usually those blocks and springs have about had it with teh abuse most of these LS1 cars have seen in the past 10 years. Its all in teh tune anyway. And if he gets teh Magnacharger Tune with it instead of tuning it locally, it will be conservative and hold out very well for a long time.
