Default ATI Race By Pass vs Standard

Could someone tell me what are the pros and cons of using an ATI by pass valve compared to standard street by pass? Thanks

How much boost are you running? I used stock procharger bypass at 10psiand it was ok, but I blew up the plenum box a few times at 14psi. This is caused because when you get off the throttle boost cannot go into motor, so it goes out bypass. If bypass isn't large enough it creates pressure in piping and can blow couplers ect.

Well not sure what you are talking about because of your wording. But if you are talking about the surge valve that comes with most Procharger kits vs a ATI Race valve. Well the difference it the surge valve doesn't completely block the air to the atmosphere and is phyisicly smaller so it doesn't allow for as much air to be blown off when letting off the throttle after a WOT run which can result in compressor surge and piping being blown off after runs etc... The Race valve does block 100% of the air so that all of the air the S/C is moving it routed into the motor and it larger so it allows for more air to be released when you release the throttle. Hope that gives you a better idea.

Sorry, I forgot to say Race valve. That's most the info I'm looking for. What would be the down side for a mostly street driven car with the race valve. I'm thinking between 14-16 lbs of boost. Thanks

The only down side will be that you will hear more air being relieved. Bob

Bob is correct as it would be all of the air at once so it would be a little louder, but the enclosed Race valve I use I find to be quit quiet relatively speaking as there is a F1 that overshadows the noise by a long shot!
