Well stated 1320, we have seen the JY LQ9 make it for two seasons at 825+rwhp. This was at 19psi on the dyno, it has seen 22-23psi a few times in 5th gear!!!! I doubt it was much more power as it was getting close to being out of steam, maybe about 850rwhp. Car has always had good fuel either 110 or now E85, with a good fuel system and a good tune up. If it detonates once it will be game over!

He is running 317's on his 5.3...

Brings comp.down to somwhere around 8.5to1 depending on gasket choice.

less compression = more boost w/o meth, then your at the mercy of the pistons and rods

This is my kit for sale. And no, I am not Quik either.

The things I hear in this thread are things you will hear from those who cant figure out of to maximize their setup. Making power takes, time, effort, knowledge, trial and error and money. As soon as anyone start throwing around the words, "oh thats too much money", they are usually the first to never understand why something costs what it costs. The collectors alone on each header are about 250-275 each. All the meterial is 304 stainless on all the hot parts. The turbos are double ball bearing. Not like the cheap Mp70 turbos I heard a few times in this thread. Your not going to make power with just throwing a kit together. This is not my first kit either. Over the years I learned what works and what doesnt.

Here is a run down of the motor.

Stock internal 5.3L motor. 317 untouched heads with double springs. Custom camshaft. Thats all!.

Fuel is an intank Bosch 044 pump, stock lines, stock rails and 60LB injectors on an 01 rail which is a 1:1 regulator on boost. I am also running a dual nozzle meth kit.

The kit is built with each process in mind. When you build a log style manifold, which you get with your so called cheaper kits, you get back pressure in the cylinder head. You also get a ton of hot spots inside the log as well. Sharp bends are a no no. Things like how the intercooler is setup, to the type of turbo you use, to how well you sized the turbo, to the full exhaust back all make a difference. MY exhaust is so well built, but cost a ton of money. There are no crush bends in the whole system. Its all mandrel, custom mufflers and two X pipes.

As for the motor surviving. No one drives on this power level. Its impossible. This is to show what it can do. Hell, this is not even the 20-22 psi runs I did. Then you would really get mad at me. A motor surviving is tuning, not being dumb, and just plain knowledge. Try reading a good engine book one day, it will change your life. In a good way of course.

There are a few in this thread that get it. Those who slap stuff together and look at cost the whole time will never get it. It cost a ton of money to build something that works. And to build something right.

So do you all doubt guys like Parish then? Hasnt he been doing what I have as well? Taking motors and setups that shouldnt make power and make power with them? I think his 5.3 project is making damn good power right? Must be running that fast. I remember when he was messing around with that 4.8 motor. Those are built awesome. Look at the design of the long rod. Again, read a book and you will know what I am talking about. The only reason he broke that motor was because of a faulty N2O valve in the parking lot.

Anyways, I am not going to tell everyone how to build stuff anymore because its just repeated to the point where no one listens. They choose money over knowledge, and thats why you see those making things happen, and those just making things.

If you truley want help understanding, then PM me or email me. Rick@synergymotorsports.net. I have helped lots of people along the way because others have helped me through the years too. Pay it forward.

If you are interested in buying the kit, let me know. I might be dropping the price again.

Well said Rick. And thanks for chiming in on this thread. I am all about maximizing the combo that you have not throwing cubic dollars at it. Like I had stated before, we have a 130K 5.3 with a Z06 cam and springs only and $2500 worth of brazilian turbo and various SS piping that has a 4400lbs pick up running 11.97@121 in the 1/4. And to be clear I wasn't bashing your fab work either. My point was you had posted in the add that "a bone stock 5.3 with this kit made 847hp". Thats all well and good but most of the populus is going to believe that they can replicate it when in fact they won't. As it turns out your "bone stock" 5.3 suddenly has a custom cam, heavier springs, and 317 heads. Funny, I work for GM and have never seen a 5.3 with 317 heads. so it no longer is a "stock" motor now is it? Come back to the "stock motor" race that others are trying to set up. the ONLY mod is valve springs, no porting, no swapping head etc. Stock is stock. Mabe you swapped in some LQ9 rods cause after all they are stock right? second 847hp on a chassis dyno is about 1000 crank HP +/-. the block and crank will live for a short time at that level but Unless my math fails me the stock piston physically cannot stand that much cylinder pressure. Blow by at that cylider pressure would be horrendous with stock rings as well. But I guess that comes back to my third point and that was just because you spyked the dyno to a certain number doesn't mean that that was what the motor "makes" for power. Although I have seen many of the honda crowd do this to post a huge number for a split second so they can brag about their 600hp stock 4 cyl. So all you did was confirm that A; you are a good fabricator, B; your "stock motor" isn't really stock anymore C;your motor hit that number for a micro second but won't sustain it, and D; you are now trying to sell a kit based on that number with some vague verbage and a misleading add. which made me start this thread "something fishy here". So point proven. we have hashed it all out, truth is found, now apparently I need to go and read some more books.

What is your point? What are you trying to prove? You surely have a certificate of douchery, or you would step back, stop, and think, like we have been saying.

Rick is on my favorites list on my iphone. I dont like it when someone comes in, calls BS, and has ZERO data to back up their claim, other than "I think its fishy".... Well, who the **** are you? I know rick. Lots of people know rick. No one knows you.

Rick isnt going to get in an E-war with you. But I will.

This makes me mad when someones calls someone else a liar, with nothing other than a hunch.

Its ok, I will state that if I posted stock meaning full stock motor, you are crazy. And if I did, I am sorry for that. I think I wrote stock bottom end if I recall. Posting what the high numbers are is so someone with the dream in mind can see what the kit is capable of. No one wants to spend money on a high dollar kit to only see that its only gone 600hp. Why would you? Hell, why does anyone buy half the parts on the internet? Because they are capable of a certain thing. Does not mean someone will buy my kit and make the same. They could go down to Joes muffler and put a **** exhaust on it. It happens. Its the whole combo. Yes, stock pistons, rods, bolts, and rings.

Also, i did not spike the dyno, I have about 10 runs at that power level and a few more with higher amounts of boost. This bottom end has seen some power in it.

Years ago we went 12.2 with a rear mount kit and full weight. I would never run this truck anymore because I am tired of breaking driveline parts and other stuff. So I stay away from drag racing now. I bet I could only pull a 14 sec run with the amount of wheel spin it makes. LOL.

Rick
Hahaha! Yea I just read that. Seems I even copied and pasted it for you! But getting back to the original reason I posted this was not in a sense to bash you but to just get to the bottom of the numbers game. having the different heads, cam and springs makes the number much more believable. So this post has done it's job. You made the power, you are trying to sell a kit be it with or without a "dream" of power, And I read throught the add to fast to see it was only stock bottom end 5.3. but you're right, I do ead everything I can get ahold of and I match my comos to what I want it to do and then squeeze every last bit of performance out of it I can. Thanks for enlightening me/us and good luck with future projects.

Louis, simmer down. Obviously I am older and mature enough to ask questions, get answers, and admit when I missed something. Most times people who revert to insults just do so because they are feeling inadequete or fail to look outside their narrow point of view to ponder someone elses views. You should always be open to critics and question what you see around you. If you don't then you have already stopped evolving and have become stagnent.

LOL at this thread. We got a guy selling a kit that "can" make the power. What you use for a motor, heads, cam, ignition, cubes is all up to you. End of story. Who cares if a stock bottom end will survive behind it or not?
