Default Mocal Heavy duty oil pump.

Just been looking around for a quality scavange pump and ran accross this. It is actually marketed as a turbo scavange pump which make me think it would tend to last a bit longer but wanted your input on the matter. It's the mocal heavy duty oil pump and here are the specs.

Specifications:
- 3 GPM @ 60+ psi
- 350f temp rating
- self-priming
- quiet low vibration operation
- 10,000 hour rated bearings & motor brushes
- hardened bronze pump (spur) gear rotors
- black anodized aluminum heatsink
- nickel plated pump head
- stainless pump head fasteners
- 3/8" NPT inlet/outlet
- high temperature internal wiring
- 3 foot wiring lead with (supplied) weatherproof connectors
- rubber-isolated mounting bracket and feet
- dimensions 6.2" x 4.1" x 4.0"

Any reason not to run it? I'm fine spending the $350 on it if it will hold up and do what I need it to do. This is for an STS kit which I do not trust the stock pump on.

(I do not need to hear why I should go with a front mount, I got this for 1k with IC, and other extras).

Mocal's are great pump's. Very popular with the porsche and road racing crowd. Sounds like you got a great deal, why not spend some of the money you saved on the initial investment and put it towards some good insurance. Good thinking.

That's a new pump they added to their website, I have a different mocal pump. The pump Tpunk is talking about looks like a much better pump than the one I have.

Is there a specific model pump from turobwerx? I have heard they are quality pumps as well, just haven't read up on them yet.

I've seen the old lower end mocals do fairly well for scavange duty so I was thinking this one should just hold up a bit better.
