If you ever have to service a JGS piece, its not fun. I had a customer come thru here with a pair of them, and they do not seal well. They leak, depending on how you clock them, and it was causing major boost control issues. There might be a re-design since then, but I only use Tial and Turbo smart stuff.

Interesting? Do you recall which size(s) were leaking?

Local guy was running JGS gate not sure what size on his home built setup. It seemed to work pretty good for him. I have only ran Tial personally. Turbosmart does seem to make some nice stuff too. I have ran their eboost2 and their blow offs.Also Tial blow offs.

I decided to stay safe and purchased a Tial 44mm wg and tial bov from speed inc

They were the smaller ones.

is there a way to identify the gates that had issues? i have a 50mm JGS that i purchased for my setup brand new, although its been quite a while now. ive yet to use it so id like to make sure before hand.

No, I'm sure its fine. Even if it does fail they honor their warranty, if you need help just call me.
