We finally came up with a solution to my problem. Since all I'm trying to do is limit the the engine movement. The decision was made to keep the stock mounts in place and have a travel limiting link bolted to the motor and welded to the frame. This should help transfer all the torque through the chassis and eliminate excess movement.
