Default Picked up LS9 Head Gaskets - Pics and info inside

So I just picked up some LS9 gaskets, and there seems to be a lot of confusion on the exact specs.

im not sure if this is the correct way to check thickness on the gasket, but squeezing the dial calipers a little bit showed 0.052 - 0.053 ish thickness, depending on how hard i squeezed, and 0.048 right next to the rivet.

bore size is 4.100

7 layers, 4 "active" and 3 "inactive layers"

these fit on my 4.010 bore, and went over my ARP studs just fine. the gasket fit PERFECTLY around the dowels with no extra play.

if anyone needs more info, let me know

I just ordered them from my local dealership, tustin chevrolet. obviously they were a special order and came straight from detriot

im an ex GM technician, so i get a good deal on parts, but i paid $80 for the set. id guess you'd spend about $100-120 ish at full price, but who knows, call up a dealer and see what they quote you...

the difference is:
stock 6.0 gasket is a 3 layer,
escalade 6.2 gaskets are a 5 layer,
LS9 (ZR1 corvette) are a 7 layer.

what i like the most is that GM Performance Parts lists them for "forced induction applications" if you look up any other gasket, it says "for naturally aspirated engines only"

.5 is a 1/2 inch thich. .05 seems too thin for a 7 layer gasket. Anybody know for sure where to take the measurement?

What's the consensus on using these on a 4.00" bore versus the 4.03" 6.0L gasket?

Used these same gaskets on my 370 turbo build, they fit perfect. $80 from the dealer for the pair sounds real good, I picked them up from gm parts direct for $35 a piece earlier last year. They are doing great so far, I'm sure they will hold a significant amount of boost for a long time.

sorry youre right, i made a typo. it is .052 - .053

however it is apx the same thickness as the other gaskets because each layer is thinner, allowing for more layers to be the same thickness as the other gaskets

What's the thickness where it's compressed by the rivets?

just went out to the garage and double checked...

0.048" which puts it right on par with the actual compressed thickness of the stock 6.0 gaskets

That's good the know. I was hoping that they were a little thicker than the 6.0 gasket to help drop compression a little bit.

Can anybody confirm that the LS9 and LSA use the same head gasket part number? or does the CTS-V use a different gasket. If they are different part numbers their may be another option while the LS9 are out of stock
