Default Ring? Chromemolly VS plasemolly

I picked up a set of JE Pistons For my LS2
They didnt come with Pins or rings

OK they are boost -20cc dished pistons

what Rings should i pick up for them?
What type of rings you guys using in LS FI motors.

I am not sure what ring material was used in my LS6 build, they were what diamond provided and were in diamond boxes.

I dont want to use a napy/harsh ring like the hell fires, my LS2 will be used in a street car, with a F1/F1A

also what is the difference and or benifites between chromemolly and plasemolly rings?

thanks for your help

Hellfires are fine in street cars. They aren't steel rings. They have been used in diesel engines for years where longevity is crucial.

On the other hand, plasma moly rings would work fine too. Chrome moly is just a name. The difference between the plasma and chrome is the application process of the molybedenum to the ring face. In a chrome moly application it is a thinner application of moly, the plasma moly ring has a burned in (plasma process) molybedenum facing. It is more wearable.

I just tore down a LS2 with a little under 10K and there was still a crosshatch in the bores.

I prefer Hellfires, but next in line would be a Plasma-Moly.
