need help with vortech problem..

Default need help with vortech problem..




compression numbers.

front two seem to be a little low, but they are all pretty close. I got my boost guage installed, and it's still making boost fine. I'm at a loss here people... what should I do next?

recap of problem: missing on cylinder 5, cuts out and pops under mild/heavy throttle, runs rough misses at idle, sometimes almost dies when stopping from a %50+ throttle run, and worst of all made 312hp before vortech install and made 312 after vortech install. "Mods in Sig"

things i've tried: new pcv valve, checked for boost/vacuum leaks, put new plug in cylindar 5, switched plugs wires on 5, switched injectors on 5, switched coil on 5, compression test, and now you're up to speed... Could really use some help here people, let me have any ideas..

Thinking of lowering plug gap from 35 to 30~25 maybe?

put the vortech tune it that came with the supercharger (superchips) Used LS1 edit to remove emissions junk, removed torque managment, removed COT, bumped the timming a little (which seemed to help with power but not the problem) timing is at 21 at wot, was going to dyno tune last week, but I was like, what's the use there's obviously something wrong other than tuning, I'm sure the vortech/superchips tune should have been good enough to make over my stock horse power not to mention my idle problems. I'm thinking it's sounding more and more like a vacuum leak, maybe I should just cap all all the vacuum lines away from the engine to rule out any leaks in hoses...

a little more info.. hooked my air compressor up to the throttle body, had my wife watch the boost guage, and pumped it up to 10lbs... no audible leaks

This sounds just like the problem I am having. I haven't started looking into it much yet though, haven't had time or money. I should have never put the supercharger on, been nothing but trouble and money since. Ripped the tranny out twice and now this and I don't even have 200 miles on it since I put it on. Hope you can figure it out because it will help me also.

You guys probably need to get a friend with EFI Live or HP Tuners to troubleshoot, a scantool is a must for FI problems.
