Default AIT sensor

I just bought a new plug and sensor the old one was spit out and ripped off by the belt. I welded a bung and installed the cyclone unit with new plug. My problem is that the new plug is not color coded to the factory colors or any colors for that matter, both wires are the same color. Does it matter how i splice these wires together.

If the connector is pointing downwards with the clip towards you the wire on the right is purple, left is tan.
