Default 402 Turbo Project Advice

Looking for Turbo and Cam suggestions for my setup, the build took a different turn then I was originally planning and I feel a little over my head. The motor is a 402 Iron block, Eagle Crank/Rods, JE Pistons, stock 317 heads, ARP Rod bolts, ARP Main/Head Studs, 9:1CR. This is a front mount kit that I'm welding myself.

I'd like the cam to have some lope and the turbo to be good to make 800-1000rwhp, dyno numbers are not as important as it'll be going through a stalled auto and 9inch, I'm hunting for a 9 second ET with room to grow.

I've been looking at the GT88 turbo from Forced Inductions and EPP's Forced Induction Cam. This is a Strip/Street car emphasis on Strip. Anybody with a similar setup or experience I would appreciate your advice

I using a 239/239 0.623/0.623 117+3 cam in my 402ci with 317 heads build with a PT88 turbo.

88 ought to be an excellent turbo for a 402/408 motor; at least that's what a lot of the reputable sources say. and the EPP cam should be an excellent choice as well for that setup. sounds like you're on the right track! I was just considering a 402 w/ a turbo kit that retains a/c until I decided I didn't want to spend the extra money for a larger turbo, plus it'd take up more space and space is highly valuable on these fbodies. So I decided to go with a boosted 370 or a sick NA 402 now lol

Thanks for the responses, I've found a good deal on the Speed Inc TU2 grind, specs are 236 236 .587 .587 112.5. Would I be limiting myself with this cam and the GT88 turbo and my motor build or does this seem like a good match?

How do you like the setup? What kind of numbers are you seeing?

those Speed TU cams are designed for turbo setups, so can't go wrong with either. I bet if you talked to one of the guys at Speed they could help you make your decision much easier on what size of cam for that 402.
