Default cam to big for street?

Have bought a new lsr centrifugal cam for my v7 charged 383 ls1. Its specs at .050 are 243/259 116lsa .624/.624 lift. Car will be running a auto with 4200 stall. Some people i have spoken to have concerns about tuning/streetability of the car. The car would not be required to do a trip of more than 100km and is not a daily driver. I did talk to comp cams and they believed it would be ok. Wondered if anyone else was using or had used anything similar and what its manners were like.

The LSA will help the cam to 'seem' smaller and will help with tuning (also being a 383" motor helps). The converter is a high enough stall speed where it will help the engine get up into that cam's powerband quicker. Give it a shot.

A friend has a slightly bigger cam than that in his 408 V7 combo, smaller converter and T400.

Sounds Nasty ! and drives okay on the street.
Give it a go....

I also think you'll be OK. Idle may be a bit higher than you are used to though.

thanks for the feedback guys. Sounds like it should definitely be workable. Worst that can result may be another cam change, but i guess you never know if these things will work unless you try.

You can get away with alot of cam on the street with a decent size converter.
