Default Boost Controller

Im sure this is a stupid question, but I just wanted to make sure. Im making 7psi (turbosmart wg) if I were to add a BC, will it let me run 10-12psi without changing springs? I read how BC work, just making sure. One last thing what BC do yall recommend?
Thanks Jared.

yup, you got it. You can add more psi but not take any away with the controller. You can go about double the spring rating i believe.

I have a Greddy Profec B II and like it

Yes you can't go under the spring of the gate. Boost controller lets you raise boost higher than gate. About double is approximately what you can go but think can sometimes get bit more. I have Eboost2 and really like it. It fits perfectly in the firebird vents. Its has lots of features. If I was drag racing all the time might have went for AMS 500 or AMS1000 but drag racing is not a big priority with me in the 99TT. I have dedicated race car for that.
Manual boost controllers can work ok for budget and if you don't need to play with psi you can just buy springs that are the size you want. But it is nice to have options like ramping the boost to help traction issues.

I use a Halman Pro MANUAL Boost controller. I had it for 4 -5 years now and I love it. I actually like the way it brings the boost on. It hits hard and then gradually climbs to my desired boost level. You can normally double the wastegate spring pressure.

I prefer no boost controller in most cases. I have tried a few cheaper ones, and they all sucked.

So, run a bigger spring, or get a expensive mbc.
