How much power on stock rods. How much power or boost can a stock rod take?
I am looking at building my ls1 and using the stock rods and upgrading to a l19 bolt and installing a forged piston. I will be using 317 heads and a mp T76 turbo. cam has not been decided yet.
Will stock rods be able to handle say 15lbs of boost? Or maybe 800hp

I was thinking of going with a good rod. I do not have it apart yet, I am just starting to put parts together. I appreciate all the input and will just get a better rod. Thanks guys
We have made 750+ on the early rods and 900+ on the late rods, both are not "safe" at that level. A good safe hp bet would be 550-600 for the early rods and 650 for the late rods. A good set of rods will not set you that far back though, Compstars are very reasonable.
