You'd think at 5" they'd at least make it an anti surge cover.

Looks good as always. Are you still running 96lb injectors this year or did you bump them up?

Would raising the turbo have helped any? For example, make a piece that bolts to your current turbo flange, has a "x" inch piece of pipe with another flange that would sit the turbo "x" inches higher?

New:
Turbo
Flange
x
x
x
x
Flange
Flange

Old:
Turbo
Flange

Just a thought

He can't raise the turbo at all. The turbine housing for the PT88 was hitting the bottom of the T-stat housing orginally. So MM had to redo the up pipe an the Turbo support lower it and probably slide it forward a .5-1" to originally get the PT88 in the TTI race kit. You'll see some nice pics of the work he did to build the replacement up pipe in his collection of online shots.

I think its probably tucked in there as close as he can get without cutting up the car. He had to do some searching to find a fan setup that would work with it.

I had TTI make me a stainless version of my custom merge pipe, so I was waiting on that, along with a refreshed engine to hook it all to!
Can't raise the turbo any because of the stock water pump yep. There is just enough room for the turbo blanket to fit in between

The grey is a 2000* paint to fight rust. nothing fancy (going under a blanket anyways)

The elbow is not from a sponsor, I had to look long and hard to find one, and its ribbed on the outside to fight collapsing.

The turbo feels like it weighs much more than the pt-88 thats all I know.

Still running 96# injectors. I will be watching the fuel system closely this season and upgrading what needs upgraded on the fly.

I am very relieved..I was losing sleep at night over having to drop 400 bux on some fans that may not be reliable or cool as well as the stockers, hack up the wiring, lose one of my fan speeds et. In the end it worked out so great and a friend basically gave the fans away to me.

As you see I had to fight quite hard for very little real estate but the difference is working vs. not working.
Anyways I think it came out right it fits better than stock! I am using the thicker lt1 radiator.

So yea other than the fuel system I'm pretty much all set for this year (other than still need my trans back!) that and i'm going from a rule 1500 to a 2000 in the water tank.

Thanks very much. Hopefully I can get a new best again one of these years doin all this mumbo jumbo..

Hey MM!

Looks like you have to cut into that support and lift that radiator upright!

Why a T4 though? Would you of had fitment issues with a t6 version?

Dave thanks for sharing pics and info. Is a 91mm T4 a new turbo, or have they been out? What is rated power wise? How much of your kit would you say is still TTI and how much is custom now?

The TTI is a T4 kit which is why he is looking for the max t4 turbo which the 91mm upgrade to a PT88 is at this time. Forced Inductions started working on them last fall.

The core of his kit is still TTI. He's actually had TTI update his turbo up-pipe that he created so it's now their shared part. That was the biggest change really to get the PT88 turbine to fit below the stock T-stat housing and water pump and clear the passenger side steering gear.

The only other real changes are the move to the larger plastic 5 gal water tank behind the driver's seat (replaces the 1.5 gal battery tank) and a second update to the water pump move more water from the new tank. Then it's just a larger filter and 90 degree bend for the new Compressor 5" inlet. The rest is still original hot and cold pipe.

As another TTI Race Kit owner... I'd say it's still TTI kit from my perspective. It's just smart space appropriate shoe horning of enhancements.

No reason to limit the compressor wheel PR with a anti-surge cover. On a V8 motor its useless anyhow.

Impressive work as usual David. Clean form and function. You really ought to think about making turbo kits...

91mm vs 88mm. Apples and oranges.....91 is a bigger wheel and will make more power. Also the comp cover and difuser facing are much larger on the 91. The PT88-47 is an excellent unit for tight spots though where the larger cover 88 and 91 won't fit.
