When to pin crank?

When to pin crank? Is it always recommended or can you spin the blower to a certain speed/make a certain amount of boost before pinning the crank is required? Any recommendations on where to get a kit?

Great place for the crank pinning kit, they sell a ton of supercharger kits for vettes. I wish they had a setup for the f-body cause there kits are far superior too others.
