Default Custom exhaust for turbo setup.

Those that have had to make your own piping setup, is there a set of headers out there for a ls1 that I can bolt the turbo to. Then route the rest how I want.

probably kyturbo would be your best bet.

Ya, or spoolinperformance sells the headers and crossover pipe for about 1500.

$1500?? Holy smokes!! Maybe its more expensive that I thought. I paid that for my full vortech sq trim for my stang.

$1500 isn't that bad, if that's making you choke, the rest of the stuff you need for a decent turbo setup doesn't get any cheaper.

I guessed that I could do a turbo setup for around the same price that I was able to do my vortech setup's. Guess not.

Or, maybe I will just make my own and use that money for the rest of the parts.

If you do a turbo setup right it will rock the **** off a vortech setup.

mmmmmm ****.....(in a homer simpson voice).. Sorry side tracked. I am going to have to really look at the cost of this. I admit there is more to it that I had thought. Thanks for your help, back to archives.

Lots of budget build threads in here. Read them and read them and then read them again. Tons of great knowledge from guys that are kind enough to share. You'll save a bundle if you can learn from others mistakes. But you have to put in the time.

Will do cobra killer. I was really hoping to be able to do this. I'll try searching the word budget in the forced induction section. Did you have a certian thread in mind or were you just speaking in general.

Start here. This poor SOB was in your shoes not that long ago. A budget build doesn't have to consist of cheap ****. But you will have to spend some time trolling the sale ads. One of the benefits to this terrible economy is that there are alot of used "new in the box" parts floating around. You have to be oppotunistic if you dont have deep pockets.

Seems like I've seen this guy somewhere. I will be reading this on my lunch break. I have a question for you if you have the time. I have not been able to get a answer yet. With my vortech setups on mustangs I ran 10-12 psi and it was 1200 cfm. That was all my motor could take. So how come with turbos you see people running 20+psi on their setups? Is this because the cfm is much less.

I guess the hardest thing for me is picking the right combo. I have some time as I haven't pulled the motor from the vette yet so i will be reading as much as I can.
