Default Do I have a bad surge valve?

I recently noticed I've been hearing pressure coming out of what I believe is the surge valve. It kind of sounds like when I left off the gas after I go WOT but it's doing it while cruising around now. I've also noticed that I can only get about 3 lbs of boost as opposed to the regular 8lbs. How can I check to see if my surge vlave is faulty? Does procharger warranty it? How much are they to replace. I have the regular one that comes with the d-1 kit not the race surge vaalve. Any comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Default

with the engine running, see if the valve is open, then pull the vac line off-if it closes, its working-you have to lose vacume (wot) for it to close-cruising along your in a high vac. state, so it will be open
some of the early valves had linkage problems, go over center and wouldnt close, depending on what kind you have
ck all your hoses for a conn that could have come lose also
