Do I have a bad surge valve?
Do I have a bad surge valve? I recently noticed I've been hearing pressure coming out of what I believe is the surge valve. It kind of sounds like when I left off the gas after I go WOT but it's doing it while cruising around now. I've also noticed that I can only get about 3 lbs of boost as opposed to the regular 8lbs. How can I check to see if my surge vlave is faulty? Does procharger warranty it? How much are they to replace. I have the regular one that comes with the d-1 kit not the race surge vaalve. Any comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks
with the engine running, see if the valve is open, then pull the vac line off-if it closes, its working-you have to lose vacume (wot) for it to close-cruising along your in a high vac. state, so it will be open
some of the early valves had linkage problems, go over center and wouldnt close, depending on what kind you have
