Default REV LIMITER options??

well i broke a piston in my 6.0l turbo ls and we believe it was caused by the factory fuel cut limiter. so i am wondering what everyone is doing with there setups with factory pcm's?

im looking into lingenfelter boxes to convert to spark cut limiter but i would like to find any easier cheaper way out.

You must have been hitting the limiter pretty much solid for a while or where extremely lean before hand when you hit to melt a piston.
