Default Anyone using Efilive valet as a 2 step?

Just curious. I was thinking about wiring the valet into my transbrake switch to control how much boost it builds in the staging lanes. The only thing I'm concerned with is that efilive cuts fuel and not spark.

Thanks,
Frank

afaik, it can't be used as one for the reason you stated...will melt harm pistons eventually...though I don't know why it's that much better to have unburned fuel in the cylinders either. Wouldn't this end up damaging ring seal?

The unburnt fuel wont hurt anything.

So running an overly rich mixture doesn't affect ring seal over time? I don't think that's correct...

A 2 step isnt running a overly rich mixture. It is cutting spark to alternating cylinders so sometimes you have a good mixture and the next time you dont.

What do you think a rev limiter does that comes on factory cars?

Ever been to a drag strip?

All the racecars using 2 and 3 steps in the burnout box and for launching?

Nobody is reccomending to drive across the country with the two step activated, but when used in short periods of time it doesnt affect anything.

I don't think a 2 step does anything to affect whether your fuel mixture is good or not. And if he's using a 2 step to build boost, the mixture would likely be rich to spool up the turbos.

My understainding is that factory rev limiters cut fuel so that they're not dumping a bunch of unburned fuel into the exhaust and ruining catalyitic converters.

No. Is that where they do the nascar? What's it like?

I'm sure the unburned fuel and backfires through the exhaust don't affect the turbine wheel and bearings at all.

Thanks for the enlightening discussion.
