ATI Surge Valve Question

ATI Surge Valve Question ATI people....
I have a question for you. When you go into boost and let off the gas...do you hear your surge valve? does it make a flapping sound or just a hhhhhhhhhhhssssssssssshhhhhhhhh sound?
Mine makes the 2nd, is it working correctly? I am making boost, but only seeing 4# on a 3.2" pulley with a P1.

It makes kind of a hissing sound. if you are only seeing 4psi with a 3.2 pulley something is wrong. With a 3.4 pulley headers/no cats I am seeing 6psi. Make sure your belt is tight enough and you dont have any leaks. Also make sure the surge valve is hooked on the correct side of the check valve if you used ATI's method of hooking it up.
Also make sure and put a check valve on the pcv line. Also check your guage, this new phantom guage in mine sticks right at 4psi sometimes. Have to tap it to go up..

Thanks, I have a new phantom guage too. I know for a fact going from the 4# pulley to the new 3.2" pulley it pulls A LOT harder now. I wonder if the guage is bad/sticking. Yeah, my surge valve makes the hissing sound when I let off. I'll check the belt this weekend, it might have stretched a bit. Thanks for your help!
You should be seeing a little more than that. My friend's 2000 with SLP headers and a loudmouth exhaust (everything else stock), P1SC, 3.2 inch pulley made 7-7.5 lbs at about 6000 - 6100 RPM on the dyno.
