91 formula
I say go for it and put some twins on it. There is a way to put an lsx computer on there with the tpi, so you pick up some tunability.
Check out gm high tech performance magazine's website. There is a guy named Tim with a white 91/92 formula 350 running 10.8 1/4 mile times with street tires on his mostly stock tpi.
The tpi's were designed for a 305 not a 350 and I'm pretty sure in stock trim everything is more properly matched to a smaller displacement motor.
The 305 has relatively restrictive heads & larger sets are not practical due to the small bore size, thus limiting power.
The stock TPI intake is very restrictive above 4500rpm & other than adding low end torque (& looking cool of course), is not the way to make good power.
The 305 does not have much in the way of strong rods or bottom end components, so spending a few thousand only to have it grenade may not be the best way to invest your money.
Recently saw a local guy build a twin turbo 406 (conventional SBC) with mild heads & cam, that went 9's at over 140mph, on low boost & stock rear.
