Default APS PCV setup blow-by

Recently replaced my intake while swapping turbos and noticed excess oil through out the intake manifold.

I'm running my PCV system exactly how APS shows with an added catch can.

The catch can was 1/3 to a half full.

Whats recommended to fix this?
Vent both valve covers?

Thanks

Sounds like the catch can just isn't keeping up with the oil. The best catch can out there right now is a provent 200. This thing is ridiculous and lingenfelter sells them. It also has a pressure regulator to help with blow by issues.

The easiest fix will be to just vent both valve covers like you stated. Many on here just use a vented can and route a hose from each cover to it to keep the mess from spraying everywhere.

I got sick of oil and blocked both ports on passenger valve cover and have open breather on passenger cover but nothing on driver. Obviously this is not the best setup for a street car. I was going to go back to aps setup with catch can and still use the open breather on passenger side as well. Wondering if a better separation valve might also help.

Whats recomended for the drivers side breather?

Would a small breather on the DS be okay from the local parts store?

As far as breather's go, yes.

But to add to this, I just did alot of research on this, and there was a REALLY big PCV thread written up on this, but its too late for me to try to look for it for you. So search for that. But it helped me kinda understand the PCV systems. Cause I was having the same problem as you with this. I had a nice oil coat on the inside of my FAST intake and I was wondering why. Mine was similiar to My99TAWS6 where I used APS's suggestion. So all I did was add in a homemade catch can from the local Harbor frieght, and then, whereas I used to have a breather on the passenger side, I capped it off so that it doesnt breathe anymore there (Pretty much saying I put a stock oil cap back on it) and even though ALL of my oil consumption problems arent gone, about 90% of it is.

The one catch can addition and blocking off the breather helped a WHOLE lot.

Good luck with yours.
