Default FAST Intakes

Can the FAST Intakes handle 20psi of boost?

Also, I heard of epoxying the pieces of the intake together to avoid air leaking. What type of epoxy is used? Is there a company out there that does it professionally?

Yes.

Any 2 part epoxy like JB Weld will work. It is very easy to do. When you bolt the layers back together, make sure to wipe off any extra that squeezes out into the runner.

Do you have to epoxy them? The reason I ask is because I plan on using a FAST intake on my FI build.

I have heard running FAST intakes on any kind of moderate to high amounts of boost is actually a very BAD idea.

Most guys I know are running some form of metal intake on their FI setups.

If you search on here there are quite a few running fast at pretty high boost levels.
Under 20psi don't seem to be much problem at all. Over 20psi not as sure.
Mine old fast 90 is working fine around 7.5psi which is low boost no problems for year or more.
I did tap and drill out my back map and put fitting on there to move map off intake. I also used some rtv between shells. Some fasts cracking is likely due to not using the right valley bolts. Stock bolts are too high and will crack the intake. You need to get new lower valley bolts at least with the 90mm fast. Also some guys way overtorque the fasts they are like inch pounds not ft pounds!
I might go up to 102 fast intake since might be changing engine to 427 ERL over winter.
Also have been looking at the metal intakes that look like normal wieand maybe?
I am running direct port and thats one reason have the fast. Also had the fast pre turbo.
Fast should really offer a one piece intake for FI guys to make 100% sure no problems.

I sold mine for a vic jr setup w a low pro elbow just bc
I heard the the older fast90 crack very ez from mid/high boost, now I guess the fast 92 is a whole diff animal w boost. Just what I heard threw the grape vine. I just didn't want to deal w that issue as seeing how much u pay for the intake n then risk schattering under boost

^ I have heard a lot of issues with the FAST as well (as previously mentioned). I guess if you kept the boost down, followed up with doing everything exact as MY99TAWS6 mentioned, then you might be okay.

...or you could just do what the majority do and play it safe by getting a metal intake
