get new lifters LS7's should be good for that hp, but as far as what else you're asking the specs of the cam and your build would help to determine that. What FI are you going with?

The LS6 cam works good with FI. A simple 76mm kit will get you there. Stock rockers are fine. Get some used pushrods in the classifieds.

Right now all I have is is a 100K LQ4 engine I am planning on using 2 precision
6265 turbos using the stock exh manifolds. I want to change the cam, pushrods
and valve springs and use the stock 317 heads

Default LS cam with turbo too mild, or another turbo cam

Hi LS1 Nova,

A lot of turbo guys seem to be running the 02 LS6 cam. How much power will this cam support?

I have a 74 camaro with used junk yard LQ4, will run LS6 intake, poss LS6 cam, turbo 400, 3.73 gears, 3500 stall, 75mm borg warner t6 turbo with truck manifolds. This car will be 60% street, 40% strip mostly 1/8th mile. The car will weigh about 3450 with me in it. I am looking for low 6"s or high 5's in the 1/8th or low 10's and high 9's in the quarter.

The 02 LS6 seems to be a mild cam for n/a. For a budget build I am looking for about 400hp n/a, and around 800hp at 15 lb of boost when I can afford to turbo it 7 or 8 months later.

Something like a FM14 with a 232/234 .600/.600 114 LSA sounds like a hot street/strip cam. But will this cam lose too much bottom end and be mostly mid range and high rpm? I am asking if the LS6 is enough cam to meet my goals or if its a mild entry level street cam.

I too am brand new to LS engines and unfamiliar with using these different cams and how they will act with a turbo later.

The LS6 cam is mild for sure on a na setup but its a cheap way to get a litter more over a stock cam when FI. It idles smooth and if thats not what you want, then Id recommend a custom spec cam from a sponsor that builds a lot of turbo cars. For $100 is was worth it to me. You might want to start your own thread for future questions.

Default Forded induction or conversions and hybrids

Hi LS1 Nova,

Thanks for the cam info. Fair enough. With the details listed above on the car is it more appropriate to start a thread under forced induction or in the conversions & hybrids section. Can I run the same thread in both areas? Keep in mind I wont be turboing the car for at least another 6 months or so due to budget. Again I am pretty new to this site. Thanks for any info.
