Default Are turbos all the same?

My buddy gave me two Perkins turbos that are from a generator. My question is can I put one of these or both on my car?

Hahaha... no. And we know you are being innocent with the question, but before a flame-fest starts, you may want to do a little research. Search the forums, as there are tons of "this turbo vs that turbo" threads..

Bottom line... Not even close. Your question is similar to saying "Are all women the same?" or "Are all cars the same?"... both are very very expensive and complex things.

I think he was trying to ask if the turbo from a generator be used on a car.

And if he does a couple searches for diesel turbos... he will see that the question has been asked many times, and I have yet to see the answer change. "No".. I was more encouraging him to do a little learning, to expand on this subject.

A turbo-charged gas generator??? Not very likely..

People would need to see pics, and for you to describe any markings on the housings of the turbos. The chances are still very very slim... IF it was a gas generator, it was likely not a large enough turbo to function on a LS1, plus... the turbo is by FAR not the most expensive part of building a turbo kit...
