intercooler piping A/W
intercooler piping A/W im building a 5.3 with 317 heads, zo6 cam, edelbrock vic jr, and a single s400 83 mm 1.10ar, and a th400 with a break. i am going run a air to water intercooler in the trunk (g body car) i was wondering what size pipe, and is it worth almost double the money to buy the aluminum pipe vs the mild steel?
Material only matters for weight. Size of the tubing matters more. I wouldn't go any less then 3" in size, I would also spend more for aluminum, because of the weight. Check on ebay, they are always selling intercooler piping kits.
thanks, i couldnt find anything in 5' lengths i need to run it to the trunk. i was planning on running 4" round, i think i will stick to that. i know this all seems a little overboard for a stock bottom end 5.3, but i want to do all this right away so i dont need to redo everything when i finish my 370ci. this is my first boosted build. thanks for the help
