Oddball crank pinning question
When doing a cam install, since one has to be down in that area anyway, would it be possible to pin the crank at the same time, (in preparation for a supercharger later) since the pulley has to come off anyway?
It'd certainly a lot of work out of a future Supercharger install...
Can one just call up Vortech, ATI, or Magnusson, and order a crank pinning kit or something?

I'm just sorta curious if one would be able to get a pinning kit beforehand, do avoid having to do all that nonsense work down there 2x.

it's the easiest to install ( my opinion) and come to think of it, you don't even have to remove the balancer to do it, just the bolt.

You drill a hole through the balancer, into the crank, and a key goes through both, so no matter what, they must turn in synch. That way, the torque from/due to the blower doesn't just start spinning your crank pulley on the crank.
Anyhoo, to return to the original question: I imagine this is something that'd be fairly easily doable if one were able to acquire the pinning/keying kit somehow? Any of ya'll know if that's something you can get, either from a supercharging kit company, or from some place else?
Thanks,

You can usually borrow the pinning kit from a shop. Call andy at A&A corvette, he usually lends them out if you send him a deposit and a small fee.
I'm sure a local shop would do the same.
CamaroGuy, this may help:
so what you are doing is drilling the keyway and installing a "round" key instead of having it milled in and installing a "square" key
they are COOL! in my book.....anyone who would put of with me for a week calling to check on a block has got to be
