Default which gaskets ls9 or custom?

I have a lq4 shortblock 4.030 bore looking to make 600-700 hp its got forged pistons and rods with stock crank i wanna make 600-700 hp with it with a d1 on it.
The deal is i was gonna get some custom made gaskets with a compressed thickness of .044-.045 to make my quench around .036-.037 to reduce some chances of detonation. But ive heard numerous good things about the ls9 gaskets and was looking at them also but they are .051 and i would lose my tighter quench.
Any advice?

fairly certain quench isn't as big of a deal in a FI motor compared to a NA setup

good thing to have though i guess

You could probably get away with a mornal GM gasket. Plenty of people on here running much more power and boost than that. maybe have a bit of a search as im pretty sure the topic has been covered befroe!

If you plan on keeping this engine for a while and maybe pushing it a bit harder later on (1000rwhp) then it might be worth speaking to camaroandreas on here. he has a nice gasket setup that should let you run silly boost and keep the heads sealed. laternatively you might want to have a word with some of the venders on here about O-ringing the block/heads!

Chris.
