Default 98-99 manifold

I have a custom made rear mount with a ST80 turbo, do you think having 98-99 exhaust manifolds is hurting performance over using 2000-02 manifolds?

I was thinking this same question. I would think so, but iam just guessing.Maybe by switch to the beefier cast style we could spool alittle faster?

I know, but when you look at how small a T4 flange is it makes you question if it really matters.

Just clean up the entry ports into the manifolds with a grinder and they should be fine for what you are trying to do.....

I've heard the 98-99's don't flow well, I didn't know if it mattered on a turbo set up.

it is true they don't flow as well as the improved 00-02 manifolds, but for your aplication they will not be a restriction at all. In your application you want maximum exhaust velocity which your factory manifolds will provide. Maybe even better than the 00-02 manifolds..!!!!!

It should help if they are wrapped with hi temp fabric. And also wrap rest of hot parts.

The rest of the hot parts have header wrap, I haven't done the exhuast manifolds, thinking of maybe ceramic coating them.
