Question LS3 stroker durability as an FI engine?

I hear the LQ4/9 engines are the prefered blocks for FI but could a 396(4.071 bore w/ a 3.8 stroke crank) or 406 cid(4.071 bore w/ a 3.9 stroke crank) LS3 stroker survive a F1-A or a cogged F1-R Procharger?

I am asking about a stock block not a resleeved and gusseted block.

curious about this myself, planning on doing a build with a L92 engine (believe the block is pretty much the same as an LS3) and boost. Would like to bore it out and go with a deeper skirt piston if possible without sacrificing reliability.

Question

The reasons I was thinking LS3 is the bore 4.065(LS3) v.s the 4.005(LQ4/9) and the fact that a aluminum LS engine weighs 65-85 pounds less.

I hear 4.1 or 4.125 cranks are no good for the LS3 with FI.

What about just the limit of boring over then? The stock crank is forged anyway. Boost can make up for the lack of cubes from a stroker crank. However, the pistons and rods have to go no matter what. I would love to use the LS9 pistons/rods, but way too much $$$.

Question

I hear an LS3's limit on overbore is 4.071(stock is 4.065) while the LQ4/9 is a +.060 overbore.

That is what I've read.

GM ls3 416ci motor will also perform but keep in mind the requirement of using big turbo 91mm and so

who said anything about turbo? the OP asked about a cogged procharger.

to me if the 6.2L motors come with a 4.065" bore, or the LQ4/9 come with a 4.005" bore with max .060 over bore spec, you would spend the money to have it bored to 4.065 anyway and you are at its limit. Why not just use a factory bore LS3/L92 and use a stroker kit?

I'm still not answering your question about the reliability of stroked & FI LS3's, so im subscribing.
