Default painting procharger!!!

Thinking of painting procharger with engine paint,is that ok..Only reason is motor, is being re-built....more boost

engine paint block "black"!
timing cover powdercoated "red"!
valve covers powdercoated "red"!
intake powdercoated black with "red" stripes!
would like to paint procharger, bracket with engine paint "black"!
intercooler and piping is already "black"!

has this been done,or is it safe?????

I haven't seen anyone paint a head unit, but I doubt it would significantly raise the internal oil temps. Bob

Won't hurt anything but will affect your resale value.

paint it with regular automotive paint, doesnt hurt anything. Powder coating aluminum sucks IMHO, nothing like a good quality paint!

Have seen a few powdercoated at shows. Looks really good. I would assume the procharger could withstand the temperature required for the coating, so a competent coater may be able to do it without a full disassemble.

lol, if you think powdercoating looks better than paint, you dont know how to paint! Anyone thats ever had heads or intakes powdercoated has eventually had bubbling. No matter what you cannot get all the oil out of aluminum. Ive used 6 different coaters over 4 states and all have failed in comparison to a good paint job. Also it doesnt require any dissasembly
