Default 408 ls head suggestions and comments

Ok i have a 408 callies shortblock getting built. My question is what head would you guys recommend? My plan is to either twin turbo or go old school with a 10-71 roots blower with enderle bug catcher efi. I'm undecided at this point. I know a turbo will blow the roots out of water in terms of HP. There's just something about a blower sitting out of the hood. Anyways the engine is 8.5 cr -w- 70cc head. My builder who is a former katech employee said to go with a ls3 head and have a full cnc port done by another former katech employee and have a 1,000 plus hp head for cheap. A turbo setup i'm looking for 1,200 fwhp and the roots setup 900-1,000 hp. Both setups will be E-85 and street/strip vehicle. The vehicle is a 91' gmc sierra pickup that's tubbed, narrowed, cage etc. 5.14 gears with a 32-18.5 tire. It'll handle what ever i want to throw at it. Thanks in advance

Any factory head casting will be at its limit at around 900 rwhp as far as head sealing goes. You could have head lifting and water pushing issues. I think an aftermarket thick deck head is required for those HP goals. I plan on running l92 heads and an 88mm Turbo on my 402 and hopefully the heads wont push water at 800 rwhp. If I want to push it further ill probably go with an aftermarket head.
