my new ss i am buying a 2001 ss with a p-1sc kit on it,the motor is all stock now but has injectors and full exaust.i want to put heads and cam on right away what is the best combo for boost and i like ruff idle cams...also how much boost can i run on the stock bottom end i am new to boost stuff....i just sold my 99 z28 with cam and 150 shot on it.

Hell no, Your gona have to build the motor because h/c is pushing the motor to it's limit by themselves. I would say leave it like that until you can build the motor, my choice is 215cc Trick flow heads with VRX5 cam

You can run 5-6 psi safely on your motor. You should make about 440 hp at that level. Anything after that and you will need to build a better bottom end. I ran my p1 at that level for a year before doing heads and a small cam, on my still stock bottom end I make 550 hp on a warm day.
You can run between 8-10psi. 8psi is a little more on the conservative side and is pretty safe. Any heads that aren't going to raise your compression are your best option. I ran 317 heads and lowered the compression a bit for safety. There are plenty of good boost cams that sound rough. Look up the EPP cam or now called the brutespeed cam. Shoot for 8psi, a good cam and even your stock heads will be fine. I would look into his fuel system and tune and make sure they are up to par.

boost yea i head about that epp cam i am thinking about runing that,with mabey some ported 5.3 or ls6 heads but like u said lower the comp. and 8 pounds.does this sound ok or will it not handle that? it has 48lbs. injectors and i am puting a big pump in..
