There's ways for the DIYer to get something like this out in the garage. Just takes a little work and patience.

Then why dont you tell him how to do it. have you ever tried to drill a tap, at an angle. that stuff is so hard you cant even center punch it. even a super hard cobalt bit will burn up on a tap. how much of the tap broke off in the hole, if it is not to thick you might be able to crack it and pull it out in pieces. let us know what you come up with.

drill it tap it and insert a helicoil they are good enough for a 35000lb helicopter to hang from 8 bolts to a gearbox id say they can handle a head

Cut the ends off of a pushrod, inset in hole, drill away. It'll guard the threads as you drill.

going to pick up my block today! Kinda hit the pocket book chargin me 400 bucks but it's worth it and plus they had to order some custom drill bits and burned through two of them lol arp makes some hard ****.

$400. ?? Holy ****~!! What did they do file it out with dental tools ... from the inside?

That seems kinda high.... they got you by the ***** though....what can ya do.

they make special tools specifically for removing broken taps. it has fingers that slide down into the flutes of the tap, then a sleeve that slides down and hold the fingers together.
